چکیده

A novel pilot-based channel estimation scheme is proposed for frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels which works in conjunction with the existing paradigm of turbo-equalization. The iterative nature of the channel estimation technique provides substantial gain over non-iterative methods, and makes it a suitable choice for iterative equalization and decoding. The use of pilot symbols is demonstrated to aid both the channel estimator and the turbo equalizer independently.

BER Performance of Single-Carrier transmission with Frequency-domain Equalization in A Channel Having Fractionally Spaced Time Delays

Recently, single-carrier transmission with frequencydomain equalization (SC-FDE) is attracting attention since the good transmission performance is achieved in a severe frequency-selective fading channel. Most of studies on SC-FDE assumed a propagation channel having sample-spaced time delays. However, the real propagation channel has fractionally spaced time delays. Under such an environment, ...

Pilot-Assisted Channel Estimation for Orthogonal Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA with Frequency-Domain Equalization

Orthogonal multi-carrier direct sequence code division multiple access (orthogonal MC DS-CDMA) is a combination of time-domain spreading and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). In orthogonal MC DS-CDMA, the frequency diversity gain can be obtained by applying frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion to a block of OFDM symbols and can...

Frequency-Domain MMSE Channel Estimation for Frequency-Domain Equalization of DS-CDMA Signals

Frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion can replace the conventional rake combining to significantly improve the bit error rate (BER) performance in a frequency-selective fading channel. MMSE-FDE requires an accurate estimate of the channel transfer function and the signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR). Direct application of pilot-assisted channel es...

SNR Estimation for Pilot-assisted Frequency-domain MMSE Channel Estimation

Abstract— The bit error rate (BER) performance of DS-CDMA in a frequency-selective fading channel can be significantly improved by the use of frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion. Accurate estimation of the channel transfer function and the signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) are necessary for MMSE-FDE. Direct application of pilot-assisted channe...

Chip Interleaving for DS-CDMA with Frequency Domain Equalization in a Frequency Selective Rayleigh Fading Channel

Abstract DS-CDMA with frequency domain minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalization can provide much better performance than that with rake combining in a frequency selective fading channel. Chip interleaving is a form of channel interleaving that improves the DS-CDMA performance by converting the channel into a highly time selective channel. When frequency domain equalization is used, the fre...
